About Me

Whilst Bettina was a keen, active and somewhat talkative member of the class, there were always some serious issues to be addressed about her five-second attention-span and passion to be “elsewhere.”

Meticulous and neat with colouring in and presentation, her workspace was always contrastingly cluttered with debris. To this day, she just clears herself a little island of space, and oblivious to the surrounding sea of junk, settles herself in to either work or procrastinate. This is permissible, and even encouraged, except for the trail of plates, mugs and glasses providing evidence of the eating and drinking habits of the day, and numerous days before that.

Since getting on with the rest of her life, Bettina has erratically wandered the world, cultivating her interest in long-distance land travel and performing miracles. The miracle is that she actually managed to finish her degree during this period, but not without a little trickery, a lot of correspondence study, and subjects that cry out for fieldwork, such as folklore and photography. Hence, Bettina is now working as an au pair, promoting vagrancy, creativity and imagination in future generations.

Cross out any previous address book entries for London, Sydney or St. Petersburg, Bettina can now be found pretty much settled in Paris. For the time being, anyway.

Despite her actual achievements in life not amounting to that much – as yet – Bettina has accumulated a lot of little thumbtacks on her world map.

A few stories have also been generated, by the by, and an attempt to provide some sort of sketchy record can be found at this blog. Preserved for posterity? Hallmarked for infamy? Unlikely. This blog will probably only serve as a source of trouble, as her parents find out what she’s been getting up to for all these years.

Welcome to the blog. Hope you enjoy your stay.
